Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian nest of three tables follows a practical graduated design, executed in rich reddish brown mahogany with straight square legs and clean rectangular tops. The lowest table includes an additional under-shelf support near the base. Visible characteristics comprise smooth polished timber surfaces and sturdy structural joints showing minimal everyday wear consistent with careful preservation. The largest table measures 53 cm tall, 46 cm wide and 33 cm deep. Suitable for placement at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair, this versatile set provides convenient surface space in a living room, study or bedroom. The compact arrangement allows the smaller tables to slide neatly beneath the largest one when floor space is needed, making the set functional for both daily use and entertaining in traditional or contemporary interiors.

FAQs

Originating in the early 20th century, an Edwardian nest of tables consists of a set of graduated tables designed to fit neatly beneath one another to save floor space. This design gained popularity during the Edwardian era for its practicality and refined proportions.

Craftsmen typically utilised high-grade hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, or walnut, often featuring fine timber veneers. Construction involved hand-cut dovetail or mortise and tenon joints, with straight, tapered, or turned legs.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent drying or cracking. Regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional application of natural beeswax will preserve the wood finish.

Place the set beside a sofa or armchair to provide flexible surface area for lamps, books, or drinks. The individual tables can be drawn out when entertaining or kept neatly nested to maintain clean lines.

Authentic Edwardian pieces exhibit natural age-related wear, hand-finished underside construction, and uniform timber patination. Check for traditional joinery techniques and subtle moulding details typical of the 1901 to 1910 period.
