Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

First invented in the late 18th century by cabinetmaker Thomas Sheraton, nests of tables became widely popular during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Designed to offer adaptable surface space while occupying minimal square footage, they were historically utilised for serving tea and games.

Edwardian craftsmen predominantly used fine hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, and satinwood. Construction typically featured turned or bamboo-style legs, thin solid timber or veneered tops, and sliding timber runners beneath each frame.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut joinery, proportional lightness typical of early 20th-century design, and natural wear or oxidisation along the sliding tracks. The timber displays a rich natural patina rather than modern uniform lacquer finishes.

A nest of tables can be placed beside a sofa or armchair to function as versatile occasional surface space. The individual tables may be layered slightly out from one another to create visual depth, or separated to serve as matching accents across a living space.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice a year to maintain moisture in the wood. Keep the furniture clear of direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage and finish fading.
