Attribution: Although tables of this sort, occasional tables, would have been made by a number of cabinetmakers throughout the United Kingdom, there are several strictly comparable examples by Alexander Peter of Edinburgh made for Dumfries House. This single drop leaf table may well be a typically Scottish model being called “bedroom table” in the bills from Peter to Lord Dumfries.
Lit: See Dumfries House sale catalogue, July 2007, Vol.I, Lots 128 page 308 and others.
