Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large Art Deco coffee table originates from England and dates from the 1930 period. The low-lying furniture item takes the form of an oval tabletop finished in warm brown burr walnut veneer with rich natural grain patterns. Raised rim edges frame the top surface, while continuous curved end panels form the integrated supports at each side. The entire polished timber body presents a uniform glossy finish with visible figured wood figuring across the top and sides. Measuring 50 cm high, 122 cm wide, and 61 cm deep, the table sits at a standard height for lounge seating arrangements. Placed centrally in a living room before a sofa or armchair, the surface provides practical space for everyday items while bringing a distinctive 1930s silhouette to interior schemes. The streamlined design adapts well to both period settings and modern residential spaces seeking a functional statement table.

FAQs

Art Deco furniture design from the 1920s and 1930s features bold geometric shapes, clean curved lines, and fine figurative wood veneers such as burr walnut and mahogany.

Craftsmen typically utilised high-grade figurative veneers, solid hardwood frames, French polish finishes, and occasionally chrome or glass accents to achieve decorative surface patterns.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural surface aging, authentic joinery techniques, low-slung proportions, and high-quality matched veneers laid across curved or angular timber frames.

Position the table at the centre of a seating arrangement to ground neutral sofas, pairing warm wood tones with textured rugs and minimalist contemporary decor.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, apply natural beeswax polish sparingly in the direction of the grain, and protect the polished veneer surface from liquid spills and direct heat.
