A spectacular stick/umbrella stand for the hallway of a grand townhouse or a large country house. Not stamped, but easily attributable to the highly respected 19th century manufacturers Coalbrookdale of Shropshire. Designed to be positioned against a wall, it consists of 24 hooped divisions, turned finials to each corner, and two original removable zinc-lined drip trays. We have left these drip trays in their gloriously original condition showing decades of regular use through the ages but, of course, they can be repainted if preferred. There are no missing parts, no breakages or repairs. This stunning stand is English, and it dates from c.1870s.
