Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Nests of tables, historically known as quartetto tables, were introduced in the late 18th century during the Georgian period. Designed to stack neatly together when not in use, they provided space-saving surface solutions for tea service and casual entertaining in English drawing rooms.

These tables are commonly constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often featuring inlaid oval panels of contrasting timbers such as satinwood. Construction highlights include slender turned spindle legs, cockbeaded edges, and curved stretchers designed to support the frame while accommodating the nesting function.

Authentic period pieces and high-grade reproductions feature precise joinery, thin timber profiles, hand-carved details, and smooth sliding grooves beneath the tabletops. Look for natural patination, subtle hand-planing marks, and age-consistent wear along the runners and foot bases.

A nest of tables offers versatile functionality when placed beside a sofa or armchair, allowing individual surfaces to be pulled out for guests as needed. In modern living spaces, they can be displayed partially cascading to showcase the tiered timber tops and decorative inlay patterns.

Dust the wooden surfaces regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish twice yearly to preserve the lustre. Keep the tables away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage, warping, or fading of the veneer.
