Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Nests of tables, originally known as trio or quartet tables, were introduced in England during the late eighteenth century. Designed primarily by cabinetmakers like Thomas Sheraton, they were crafted to provide flexible surface space in drawing rooms while saving floor space when tucked away.

Georgian nesting tables were predominantly constructed from solid or veneered mahogany, preferred for its durability and rich grain. The frame construction featured mortise and tenon joints with delicate turned legs, thin stretchers, and lightweight tops to allow easy handling.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut joinery, historic wear along the runners where the tables slide together, and slight variations in exact dimensions due to handcrafting. Dense, dark timber with a natural aged patina and faint hand-plane marks on the undersides are key indicators.

A nest of tables works well positioned at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair, serving as adaptable drinks tables during gatherings. Individual tables can be pulled out and spread across a seating area to provide additional functional surfaces.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish along the grain twice a year. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber movement, joint separation, and finish fading.
