This is an attractive pair of art nouveau design gilt frames retaining their original gilt finish.

The frames measure 55 cms by 41 cms overall.

The aperture is 23 cms by 30 cms

The rebate for the picture is 41 by 26

If used without the gilt slips the aperture becomes 27 cms by 42 cms and the rebate is 30 cms by 45 cms.

UK insured packing and delivery is £20.

This pair of antique picture frames dates from the Art Nouveau period around 1890. Constructed from wood and gesso with a gold leaf finish, the rectangular frames display an all-over gold colour. Ornate floral relief carvings, sinuous botanical vines, and textured background stippling decorate the wide borders. The original gilt finish shows minor signs of age and wear across the surface, including faint cracks in the gesso and gentle rubbing on the raised floral motifs.
