A very fine nine-tier pot stand or saucepan stand in wrought iron with beautiful distressed original paintwork. This stunning example dates from c1850 to c1875 and is in sound structural condition with all hand-forged feet and splayed tops, together with all welds to the nine tiers, being in perfect condition. The paintwork is secure and is not flaking; in contrast to what one might be expecting, the finish is actually smooth and tactile. This exceptional pot stand would grace the kitchen of any fine country estate or town house. English, 19th century.
