Why Sellingantiques dated this piece to THE GEORGIAN ERA:
Turned and reeded tapering legs: early nineteenth-century pattern.
Brass cup castors on turned feet: original Regency dining table fitting.
Solid figured mahogany leaves: natural shrinkage and mature colour from handling.
Fly-leg support system on demi-lune ends: standard multi-part construction before extending screws.

This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian D-end dining table is a modular extending table consisting of two semi-circular end sections, shaped like the letter D, which can function independently or join together with additional leaves to accommodate large gatherings.

Tables of this era were primarily crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, valued for their durability and deep grain. They feature turned solid timber legs, often fitted with brass socket castors and metal brass clips to secure the table leaves.

Authentic Georgian pieces display hand-cut joinery, original brass fork connectors or clips beneath the tabletop, uneven wear on the legs, and natural colour variations across the timber leaves consistent with age.

Integrate the table into a contemporary dining room by pairing the dark mahogany wood with modern upholstered chairs or minimal lighting fixtures to balance classical proportions with contemporary aesthetics.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish periodically along the grain. Keep the table away from direct sunlight, radiators, and moisture sources to prevent warping or fading.
