The dark timber shows visible grain texture and authentic signs of age across its surfaces. The clean lines and architectural details also suit a gentleman's library or reception room setup.

FAQs

An altar table is a long, narrow wooden table traditionally used in Chinese households and temples for displaying incense, ancestral tablets, and ceremonial objects.

These tables are constructed from native hardwoods such as elm or pine, utilizing mortise and tenon joinery to secure the frame without metal fasteners.

Authentic period tables exhibit hand-shaped mortise and tenon joints, natural wear patterns along lower stretchers, and integrated everted end flanges along the tabletop edge.

Altar tables function effectively as entryway consoles, hallway focal points, or sofa back tables when combined with modern artwork or ceramic vessels.

Position the timber away from direct heat sources and extreme humidity, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, and apply beeswax periodically to maintain the surface finish.
