Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large nineteenth-century English potboard serving table displays a rustic farmhouse style, rendered in painted timber with a muted green finish that shows subtle surface wear. The rectangular top rests above a linear frieze fitted with two drawers, each furnished with small round brass knob handles. Square legs support the main structure and descend to a continuous open lower potboard shelf positioned close to the floor. Measuring 76 cm high, 243 cm wide and 51 cm deep, the substantial length provides generous display and storage space. In a contemporary home, this versatile piece serves well in a hallway, kitchen or dining space as a side table, console or buffet. The narrow profile accommodates placement against a wall in high-traffic corridors or living areas, while the lower shelf offers practical storage for baskets, books or decorative items. The understated painted finish integrates smoothly into country house, traditional or transitional interior schemes.

A potboard serving table features an open lower shelf originally designed to store large cooking pots and copperware off damp stone floors in traditional British kitchens and sculleries.

These servers were typically crafted from native timbers such as oak or pine, frequently finished with milk paint or oil-based paint layers for durability and moisture resistance.

Authentic historical examples showcase hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, timber peg construction, natural surface wear on the lower shelf, and genuine age-related wear to original paint finishes.

Position the piece in a wide entrance hall or dining room, utilising the lower open shelf for large decorative ceramics or storage baskets while maintaining an uncluttered top surface.

Dust surfaces regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding commercial chemical polishes or excess moisture that could destabilise historical paint layers.
