French bistro tables originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for pavement cafes, designed to be easily folded and stored away by proprietors at the end of the trading day.

These tables typically feature robust iron or steel frames with perforated sheet metal or slatted tops, assembled using traditional riveting and folding mechanics.

Authentic pieces exhibit heavy gauge metal, period specific patination, manual riveted construction, and wear consistent with decades of outdoor exposure.

This piece works well as an accent table on a balcony, in a sunroom, or contrasted against clean architectural lines in a contemporary living space.

Maintain the surface by gently cleaning with mild soap and water, and apply a clear rust inhibitor or wax to preserve the original patina if kept outdoors.
