A cellarette is a lockable container used in the 18th and early 19th centuries to store wine bottles safely in the dining room before they were served.

They are typically constructed from dense timbers such as mahogany or oak, featuring dovetailed joints, brass hardware, and occasionally lead linings to hold ice.

Authenticity is determined by hand-cut dovetailing, period-correct brass fixings, patination of the wood, and traditional construction methods consistent with the 18th century.

They function effectively as statement side tables, blanket boxes, or traditional drinks storage units in living spaces and dining rooms.

Maintain timber with periodic applications of natural beeswax, avoid direct sunlight, and keep away from heat sources to prevent wood splitting.
