Tunbridge ware is a distinct form of decorative woodware, notably mosaic woodwork, produced primarily in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, during the 18th and 19th centuries.

These items are crafted using thousands of tiny, precisely cut blocks of naturally coloured native and exotic woods assembled to form a pictorial mosaic, then veneered onto a solid wood carcase.

Authentic pieces feature exceptionally fine mosaic work with microscopic wood squares, often incorporating geometric borders or pictorial panels depicting landscapes, flora, or maritime scenes.

Display these small decorative objects on a bookshelf, side table, or within a cabinet of curiosities to add historical texture and intricate craftsmanship to a room.

Keep items away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations to prevent wood shrinkage, and dust gently with a dry, soft cloth without applying liquid polishes.
