The Antique Partnership has dated this piece to the 1920s.
This was probably a school globe and in the past it has suffered damage perhaps from being knocked over. The damage was obviously repaired but this has left indentations and cracks (all of which are completely stable) together with re colouring and place name patches. There have been repairs to both poles. Much of the detail however is good...Europe Russia North America Canada and Australia are all intact Some of central America Central Africa and Indonesia show areas of old damage all of which are shown in the photographs. Decoratively the globe stands well and looks good and as such would be fine as a film prop. As a scientific instrument it is adequate but not perfect
The globe is 31 cm in diameter stands 57 cm high and the base is 21 cm in diameter.
