We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Anglo-Indian furniture developed during the 18th and 19th centuries when British residents commissioned local Indian craftsmen to recreate European furniture forms using indigenous hardwoods and traditional relief-carving techniques.

Craftsmen predominantly worked with dense, native hardwoods such as teak, rosewood, and padauk, utilizing hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery alongside deeply carved foliate or scrollwork motifs.

Authentic period examples feature hand-planed surfaces, dark natural patination, heavy timber weight, and elaborate botanical relief carving consistent with regional Indian woodworking traditions.

Position the table as a focal point in an entryway, behind a central sofa, or within a study to contrast intricate carved textures against neutral architectural backgrounds and modern upholstery.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly along the grain to preserve timber hydration and protect the patinated surface finish.
