Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

This pair of Georgian console tables displays a demi-lune form in the Sheraton manner, dating to circa 1800. Constructed from flame mahogany and satinwood with box and fruitwood inlay, the wood exhibits warm caramel hues and a desirable aged patina. The drum aprons show vase and foliate garland motifs above square tapered legs with spade feet and spandrel details. Each table measures 74.5 cm high, 107 cm wide, and 40.5 cm deep. Positioned against a wall, these tables serve well in a hallway beside the front door or in a living room as accent furniture. The narrow depth keeps a low profile, while comfortable kneeholes provide space for writing or reading.

FAQs

Sheraton style demi-lune tables are semi-circular wall tables popularized in late 18th-century Britain. They are characterized by slender tapered legs, refined Neoclassical proportions, and delicate timber marquetry or decorative stringing.

Georgian cabinetmakers favoured fine hardwoods such as mahogany, satinwood, rosewood, and harewood. Tops were frequently decorated with crossbanded veneers and inlaid stringing using boxwood or ebony.

Authentic pieces feature hand-sawn timber elements, original mortise and tenon joinery, subtle variations in hand-cut marquetry, and natural oxidisation on the underside of the wood.

Demi-lune tables fit neatly against narrow walls, in entrance hallways, or flanking a doorway. A single lamp or framed artwork placed central to the tabletop accents their geometric symmetry.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep timber away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying or veneer movement.
