This decorative three-fold room divider from 1890 follows the Art Nouveau style, combining a warm brown oak frame with copper panels and naive wool textile sections. Each of the three sections has shaped upper rails inset with repousse copper panels, while the hand-woven panels depict geese, figures, and stylised tulips in yellow, red, and pink tones against neutral backgrounds. The wooden frame joins panels via hinges, and the top rails display organic carved motifs. The screen measures 165 cm high, 150 cm wide, and 3 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this piece works well positioned in an empty corner or used to divide space within a living room, bedroom, or hallway, adding a touch of period character to the interior layout.

Art Nouveau furniture features organic, flowing lines inspired by nature, incorporating stylised floral patterns, sinuous curves, and integrated decorative panels in metal or textile.

Cabinetmakers commonly used solid hardwoods such as oak or mahogany, paired with hammered copper panels, glass, or hand-worked textile embroideries.

Authentic pieces display period-appropriate joinery like hand-cut mortise and tenon joints, natural patination on copper work, hand-stitched textiles, and characteristic plant-form motifs.

A folding screen can be used to delineate functional zones in open-plan spaces, soften hard structural corners, or serve as a textured focal backdrop behind seating.

Clean the wooden frame with a soft dry cloth and apply natural beeswax sparingly, while avoiding chemical polishes on copper to preserve its original surface patination.
