Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An antique tribal bag face cushion is constructed using the front panel of a traditional nomadic storage bag, such as a khorjin or mafrash. Historically crafted by migratory weavers across Central Asia and the Near East, these durable textiles feature intricate geometric hand-knotted or flatwoven designs.

These pieces are traditionally handwoven using hand-spun sheeps wool on horizontal portable looms. The yarns are dyed using natural plant and mineral pigments, with construction techniques ranging from symmetrical or asymmetrical pile knotting to flatweave kilim methods.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural variations in dye shade known as abrash, irregular hand-spun wool textures, and flexible, hand-bound selvedges. Wear consistent with age on the pile and backing, combined with complex geometric or symbolic tribal motifs, further indicates historical authenticity.

Interior designers use tribal rug cushions to introduce rich texture, geometric pattern, and historical depth to contemporary spaces. They are frequently placed on modern linen sofas, leather armchairs, or neutral window seats to create balanced visual contrast.

Vacuum the wool surface gently without a rotating brush attachment to prevent pulling fibers. Address spills immediately by blotting with a dry cloth and mild detergent solution, and keep the cushion away from prolonged direct sunlight to prevent natural dyes from fading.
