Antique Kilim Cushion

Description

One beautiful hand-crafted antique Kilim cushion, with a soft brown corduroy backing to compliment the stunning ancient colours and this cushion has a soft feather insert.  This cushion has been created using an antique Anatolian Hotamis kilim from circa 1850, which was beyond restoration.  The early dyes using rare greens, aubergine, pale blues and soft reds are truly wonderful. As this a very old piece of kilim it does have some marks on there, due to the kilims age.  Each piece used for a cushion has been washed, but occasionally old marks are unable to be removed as this kilim is around 175 years old.

Hotamis, a town located east of Konya and south of Karapinar in Central Anatolia, it is famous for its traditional kilim weaving.  Hotamis kilims are valued for their unique designs and craftsmanship, often reflecting the region’s weaving heritage.
