An Edwardian satinwood work table in the George III style presents an octagonal honey brown timber top decorated with painted floral garlands, ribbon bows, and an oval brass escutcheon with beaded initials. The shallow frieze incorporates further floral motifs alongside a small keyhole escutcheon and a drop-down metal key handle, standing on slender tapered square legs joined by an X-stretcher. The table measures 74 cm high, 41 cm wide, and 36 cm deep, with boxwood and tulipwood inlay defining the edges. This piece serves practically as an occasional table positioned at the end of a sofa in a living room, study, or sitting area for holding small daily items.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoid placing the item in direct sunlight or near radiator heat sources, and apply a thin layer of natural beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish.

Position the piece as an occasional side table beside a sofa, within a reading nook, or in an entryway to function as a compact surface for decorative objects while introducing warmth and historical character.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural timber patination, hand-painted decorative motifs, traditional dovetailed drawer joints, period-correct brass hardware, and fine graining characteristics of West Indian or East Indian satinwood.

These tables were frequently crafted from satinwood, mahogany, or rosewood, often featuring painted floral decorations, boxwood stringing, crossbanded borders, and brass keyhole escutcheons.

An Edwardian work table is a small accent table produced during the early 20th century, typically designed to store needlework, sewing implements, or writing materials inside a small drawer or basket structure.
