Antique 17th Century Charles II Oak Side Table Occasional Table C1680

This is a wonderful antique oak 17th century Charles II side / occasional table which dates to circa 1680. The piece has been made out of the most wonderful oak which has a lovely rich patina which can only be gained through age but unfortunately the photographs do not do it justice. The table is of lovely small proportions and the top is of a simple two plank construction. The table has a freeze below the top which is simply carved. Then as you move down it as the most wonderful turned legs and simple carved stretchers making it a nice sturdy piece of furniture.
 
The table has all the features you would expect from an early piece such pegged joint and wear.
 
The top of one of the table legs has been stamped with the initials ''SG''.
 
This piece could be used in many room in the home and add an air of elegance wherever it is placed. In addition to being used as a table this could equally be used as a lamp stand.
 
 
The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are:
 
- 25 3/4 inches (65.5 cm) wide.
 
- 16 3/4 inches (42.5 cm) deep
 
- 21 1/2 inches (59.5 cm) high
 
As can be seen from the above dimensions this table is of lovely small proportions.
 
 
CONDITION:
 
From the photographs you can see that this is an lovely piece of furniture which has a lovely rich patina which can only be gained through age. This piece is in the region of 340 years old and as such has all the wear and marks which come with this age. The two plank top has a gap there are marks to the top, there are the remains of pieces of early nails to the freeze which may have been where cloth was paced around the table and all the wear to the stretchers and legs you would expect to see. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
 
 
Overall it is a wonderful side table / lamp stand and will look super in any room it is placed.
