Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Regency style, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1830, was heavily influenced by classical Greco-Roman, Egyptian, and Chinese motifs, characterised by clean lines, restrained ornamentation, and architectural proportions.

Cabinet makers predominantly utilised solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, frequently accented with rosewood, satinwood stringing, brass inlays, and cast brass hardware or castors.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails in the drawer construction, secondary timbers like oak or pine, hand-turned elements, and natural patination consistent with age and use.

A classic wooden writing table provides a grounding focal point in a home office or living room, serving as a functional workspace while contrasting cleanly against minimalist modern seating or neutral walls.

Maintain antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, and occasionally nourish the wood with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone-based polishes.
