Description

A fine quality early 20th century oval mahogany brass bound wine cooler or jardiniere on stand in the Georgian style by 'Warings & Gillow'.

This wine cooler consists of a fine quality solid mahogany oval coopered body with two brass bands with lion mask handles to the sides, the interior with original tin liner.

This leads down to an oval mahogany base with cabriole legs and pad feet with 'Warings, Waring & Gillow, Deansgate, Manchester' label to underside.

'Waring & Gillow' were an English furniture manufacturer, formed in the late 19th century merging 'Gillows of Lancaster and London' with 'Waring of Liverpool' and they were renouned for producing fine quality pieces of furniture.

This wine cooler is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home - it is a very versatile piece as can be used for storing and displaying wine, flowers, logs or anything you like!
