We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 18th century French Provincial side table uses dark brown walnut timber with visible grain variation. The piece includes a single drawer, turned legs terminating in compressed ball feet, a curved X-frame stretcher centred with a raised boss, and a shaped apron beneath the moulded top with rounded corners. Historic repairs appear on the timber elements. The table measures 66 cm high, 93.5 cm wide and 61 cm deep. Suitable for use in a living room, hallway or study, the side table works practically placed at the end of a sofa or against a wall to hold lamps, books or decorative items. Its French Chateau design aesthetic brings traditional rustic character to domestic interiors while offering functional surface space and lower storage access.

French provincial side tables from the 18th century combine practical rustic construction with regional interpretations of courtly styles, characterized by turned legs, shaped aprons, and solid timber frames.

Cabinetmakers primarily used indigenous dense hardwoods such as walnut, oak, and fruitwood, joined using mortise and tenon construction held by wooden pegs.

Authentic pieces feature signs of hand-planed surfaces, hand-sawn timber marks, natural wood shrinkage over time, wooden peg joinery, and natural patination in lower recesses.

Positioning an antique wood table alongside sleek contemporary seating creates a balanced contrast, anchoring modern minimalist rooms with warm historic textures.

Maintain walnut surfaces by applying a high-quality beeswax polish annually, keeping the table away from direct heat sources, and wiping spills immediately with a dry cloth.
