FAQs

Chinese blue and white porcelain reached significant artistic heights during the Ming and Qing dynasties, utilising cobalt pigment under a transparent glaze to create intricate narrative and botanical motifs.

These vessels are traditionally crafted from high-fired petuntse and kaolin clay, glazed, and often displayed on carved hardwood stands.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the characteristics of the glaze, the cobalt blue underglaze depth, iron impurities, potting weight, and base reign marks.

Position the piece on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or desk as a focal point to introduce historical texture and a subtle splash of traditional colour.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild soap with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners to protect the historic glaze.
