An Edwardian jardiniere is a decorative stand or vessel designed to hold indoor plants and flowers, popular during the early 20th century.

These items typically feature solid woods such as mahogany, satinwood stringing or marquetry inlay, and often include a removable metal liner to catch water.

Authenticity is determined by construction techniques, hand-cut dovetails or joinery, period-appropriate timber ageing, and subtle signs of manual craftsmanship rather than modern mass production.

It functions well as a botanical focal point in living areas or hallways, pairing traditional timber tones with modern greenery to create textural contrast.

Maintain the wood with periodic microcrystalline wax applications, avoid direct sunlight and moisture exposure, and ensure the interior metal liner is dried thoroughly after watering plants.
