Georgian wine carriers and coolers were designed during the 18th and early 19th centuries to safely transport and present wine bottles from the cellar to the dining table during formal meals.

These items were predominantly crafted from dense hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or rosewood, frequently fitted with brass castors and handles for mobility and durability.

Authenticity is determined by examining traditional joinery methods, hand-turned components, timber patina, and signs of age-appropriate wear and oxidisation on the metal fittings.

This piece can be utilised as a functional drinks holder beside a dining table or repurposed as a decorative receptacle for rolled textiles or books in a living space.

Maintenance requires dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and periodically applying natural beeswax to nourish the timber, avoiding direct sunlight and moisture exposure.
