Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the nineteenth century, decorative glass panels combining acid etching with hand-painted vignettes became popular in Victorian and Edwardian architecture. They were frequently used as door inserts, transoms, and privacy screens in residential and public buildings.

These panels feature sheet glass treated with hydrofluoric acid or sandblasting to create matte, frosted patterns against clear glass. Central oil or enamel painted roundels were applied by hand to add detail and colour.

Authentic period pieces exhibit slight imperfections in the glass, such as air bubbles or wave patterns typical of historic sheet glass production. Hand-painted central motifs often show visible, subtle brushwork and natural age-related patina on the paint layer.

Decorative glass panels can be back-lit and mounted as framed wall art, suspended in front of modern windows to catch natural light, or integrated into custom internal door frames and room dividers.

Clean the frosted and clear glass areas using a soft microfibre cloth lightly dampened with water. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive materials on the painted sections, as direct rubbing can damage delicate historical pigments.
