This delightful tea caddy was manufactured in China in the mid 1700’s
The Body of the caddy is free from damage or restoration, the caddy lid has a small underside chip which is otherwise under able.
The overglaze hand decoration is in simplified form.
The fine ochre has then been over gilded, the chain detail is interspersed with small floral decoration however not symmetrical.
Gilding wear is the only criticism of the body.
Again social wear is the main rim and tip damage evidenced apart from the under rim Chip clearly photographed
