This pair of Regency toleware chestnut urns, dating from the nineteenth century, is made from black painted metal finished with gilt metal details. Each urn stands 32 cm high and 18 cm wide on an oval pedestal base, featuring a curved body supported by a turned stem, lion mask side handles with hanging rings, and a matching pointed lid topped with a slender finial. The exterior surfaces display hand-painted gold chinoiserie landscape decoration depicting architectural structures, rocks, and foliage, while minor loss of decoration and slight bending show signs of age.
