Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A wine table is a small, lightweight occasional table originally designed to hold glasses, decanters, or candles beside seating. The form emerged in Britain during the 18th century and evolved through the 19th century, frequently incorporating pedestal stems, barley twist turnings, and tripod bases.

Victorian cabinetmakers primarily used solid English or French walnut, often featuring figured veneer on the tabletop surface. Stems were hand-turned or machine-lathed, and legs were joined using traditional dovetail or mortise and tenon joints into a central block beneath the column.

Authentic pieces from renowned Victorian makers such as Holland & Sons or Gillows often feature an impressed makers mark stamped directly into the wood on drawer edges, undersides, or rear legs. In addition, examine construction details like hand-cut joinery, natural age-related timber shrinkage, and original patination.

Position a walnut wine table beside a reading chair or sofa as an accent table for books or a small table lamp. The rich timber tones contrast effectively against neutral wall palettes and soft upholstery fabrics.

Clean walnut furniture using a soft, dry lint-free cloth, avoiding liquid chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year to nourish the timber and preserve the natural patina, keeping the item away from direct heat sources.
