Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Qing Dynasty furniture is recognised for its elaborate ornamentation, geometric carving, and substantial proportions compared to earlier Ming pieces. Craftsmanship during this period frequently incorporated intricate fretwork, carved aprons, and inset marble tops set within dense hardwood frames.

These stands were constructed using dense tropical hardwoods such as zitan, hongmu, or rosewood, which were prized for their weight and grain. Tops were often inlaid with patterned marble or granite slabs, joined using traditional mortise and tenon wood joinery rather than metal fasteners.

Authentic period stands display precision joinery without nails, showing natural wear and oxidation in unvarnished recesses. The weight of the timber is noticeably heavy, and the marble inserts typically exhibit natural mineral veining and subtle hand-polishing marks consistent with period manufacturing techniques.

A pair of stands can be placed symmetrically on either side of a sideboard or doorway, or positioned in alcoves to frame a focal point. Their vertical profile makes them suitable for displaying indoor foliage, ceramic vases, or sculptural objects against modern neutral walls.

Dust the wood regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a beeswax polish occasionally to maintain the timber finish. Avoid placing marble inserts directly under hot objects or liquids, and position the pieces away from direct heat sources to prevent timber movement or cracking.
