Late 19th century Japanese carved hardwood statue of a tiger,c1890. This is a fine , large and heavy example at 1.5kg , well carved and executed with fine detail to the coat, features etc. The tiger is depicted standing proudly on a rocky outcrop and mounted on a wooden plinth. The wood has taken on lovely colour/patina and has a real warmth. Overall condition is good with no obvious defects.
