Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of late nineteenth century German Saxony porcelain candlesticks exemplifies the Rococo Revival style. Each piece exhibits a multicoloured enamel glaze incorporating soft pastel tones of green, pink, blue, and yellow across elaborate floral and leaf decoration. Four sweeping branches support five candle sconces above a central column featuring applied flowers, Rococo scrolls, a female figure on one piece, a male figure on the other, and accompanying putti terminating in a scrolling base. Minor petal damage is present in keeping with age. Each piece measures 51 cm high, 25 cm wide, and 25 cm deep. Positioned on a sideboard top, these candelabra bring ornamental detail to a dining room or living area. They accommodate five candles each while functioning as decorative tabletop sculptures.

FAQs

Saxony, particularly the region surrounding Dresden and Meissen, became a renowned centre for European hard-paste porcelain production during the eighteenth century, famous for intricate figurative modelling, Rococo scrollwork, and delicate applied floral embellishments.

These pieces are constructed from fine hard-paste porcelain, hand-moulded and assembled prior to firing, then decorated with hand-painted enamel glazes, encrusted porcelain flowers, and delicate gilding.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-painted makers marks under the glaze on the underside, intricate hand-formed encrusted flora, crisp facial details on figures, and slight natural variations rather than uniform modern mould lines.

A pair of ornate porcelain candelabra makes a striking statement when placed on a dining room table, console table, or fireplace mantelpiece, providing a classic decorative contrast to minimalist modern interiors.

Dust gently with a soft, dry artists brush or air duster to avoid snapping off delicate porcelain petals, and clean with warm water and mild liquid soap if necessary, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or soaking.
