Description

A beautiful example of a late 18th century Georgian cheese coaster in high-quality mahogany. This beautiful tabletop coaster — sometimes referred to as a stilton truckle, to hold a round of cheese — has two sections with an offset fixed divider. There are carved details to all four corners (please see close-up image) and it retains its original finish with a rich, warm colour and a glowing patination. English, c1780 to c1800.
