Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Dutch Neoclassical furniture from this era is defined by linear profiles, geometric stringing, and symmetry inspired by Greco-Roman architecture. Designs frequently feature dark ebonised woods contrasting with pale veneers like satinwood, often completed with marble surfaces and cast brass mounts.

Construction typically employed solid oak or pine carcasses veneered with exotic woods such as ebony, rosewood, and satinwood. Top surfaces frequently featured natural white or grey marble slabs, complemented by cast brass handles and hand-dovetailed drawer boxes.

Authentic pieces display hand-sawn drawer linings, uneven veneer thickness, and hand-cut dovetail joinery. Look for natural wood oxidisation on unfinished undersides and slight irregularities in cast brass drawer pulls.

A Neoclassical table functions effectively as a focal accent in entryways, stair landings, or living room alcoves. The high-contrast geometric wood tones align well with contemporary neutral walls and minimalist architecture.

Veneered surfaces should be dusted regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and polished periodically with natural beeswax. Marble tops require pH-neutral cleaners and immediate drying to prevent liquid penetration or etching.
