This pair of Georgian garden urns presents a classic profile in cast iron with a terracotta red finish and original surface wear. Each piece comprises a wide bowl with a fluted rim and acanthus leaf relief carving, supported by a reeded stem upon a circular, stepped plinth with tiered cylindrical moulding. The metal shows visible weathering and rust patination across the surfaces, highlighting the traditional craftsmanship of the period. Measuring 80 cm high, 45 cm wide, and 45 cm deep, these sturdy vessels are suited for placement beside the front door or within a sunlit conservatory to add traditional character to an entranceway or living space.

Georgian garden urns draw heavy inspiration from Classical Greco-Roman urns and campana shapes, featuring reeded bases, acanthus ornamentation, and scalloped or fluted rims.

These pieces were typically produced from cast iron, lead, terracotta, or composition stone, often finished with lead paints or allowed to develop natural oxidisation outdoors.

Authentic period urns feature visible multi-part casting seams, substantial weight, intricate crisp relief details from original moulds, and historical surface wear or paint layering.

Position them as architectural anchors flanking doorways, place them in sunrooms to house indoor foliage, or use them as focal points in an entryway or alcove.

Maintain the surface patination by applying a coat of clear microcrystalline wax annually, and ensure proper drainage holes remain clear if planted.
