Lee Hawkins Antiques & Interiors has dated these Cast Iron Campana Urns to the 19th Century.
The richly weathered red-painted finish has developed an attractive aged surface, giving the pair the authentic character and patina expected from antique garden ornament.

The urns are raised on moulded socles and square bases, which rest securely upon complementary stone pedestals. Each pedestal is square in section and decorated with recessed panelled sides, stepped mouldings and a broad projecting top. Their pale, naturally weathered surfaces provide an effective contrast against the warm red tones of the cast iron.

Together, the urns and pedestals create an impressive symmetrical display suitable for framing a doorway, gateway or garden path. They would also make commanding focal points within a courtyard, terrace, conservatory or formal landscape.

Pairs of genuine antique garden urns are increasingly sought after because complete matching examples are difficult to source. Their enduring classical design, decorative versatility and substantial construction give them strong appeal to collectors, landscape designers and owners of period properties.
Presented in very good antique condition with expected weathering, surface wear and patination consistent with outdoor use.
