Description
Early C19th Regency period brass-inlaid rosewood fold-over 'tea' table. Superb quality figured rosewood fold-over table with 'fleur-de-lys' style inlay to frieze and corners , brass stringing throughout , and central frieze panel of intricate cut-brass design . The D-shaped top raised upon a concave quadripartite base with hipped sabre-leg supports and brass box-toe castors. Polished timber and brass-inlaid all around , of free-standing form when opened. Brass-mounted stylish shaped pillar support . Great mellow patina with minor blemishes to polish of top , whilst the polished interior retains its original dark, rich colour. Swivel-action top revealing concealed compartment panelled interior and the mahogany construction of the table frame. Top quality table of high Regency design in first-class condition, and entirely original state. Provenance: from a local deceased Worcestershire estate. H 29" W 36" D 18".
