Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency furniture inspired by cabinetmaker George Bullock typically incorporates native British woods mixed with exotic rosewood, detailed brass or wood marquetry in classical foliage motifs, and bold architectural forms such as triform bases and reeded columns.

Cabinetmakers during the Regency period favoured exotic timbers such as Brazilian rosewood and mahogany, frequently combining them with brass galleried edges, boxwood inlay, and parcel-gilded or carved wooden elements.

Authenticity is indicated by historical construction techniques, including hand-cut dovetails, original brass fittings with natural oxidisation, hand-carved giltwood supports, and thick timber veneers laid over solid oak or pine cores.

A small occasional table functions effectively as a lamp stand beside an armchair or within an alcove, where its dark timber and gilded highlights provide historical contrast against modern upholstery and minimalist architectural walls.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid placing the item near direct heat sources or sunlight, which causes rosewood veneer to fade and dry out. Giltwood elements should never be cleaned with water or chemical solutions, as this strips the original gilding.
