Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This 18th century Georgian drop-leaf dining table exhibits a warm brown mahogany timber construction with a rich, highly figured grain across the oval drop-leaf top. It stands on tapered legs terminating in pad feet, joined by rule joints to the hinged side leaves which can be operated in either the lowered or raised position. The piece has an overall height of 72 cm, a width of 108 cm, and a fully open depth of 108 cm. Suitable for everyday use in a modern dining room, kitchen, or living space, this English country house style table provides versatile surface area due to its folding leaves. The practical dimensions allow it to function as a central dining surface or stand compactly against a wall when the leaves are folded down. The construction employs traditional joinery methods suited for regular domestic application.

A Georgian drop-leaf table is an 18th-century piece of furniture designed with foldable hinged side sections supported by moveable legs, allowing the table surface to expand or contract as needed.

These tables were predominantly constructed from dense hardwoods, most notably Cuban and West Indian mahogany, featuring brass hinges and mortise-and-tenon joinery.

Authentic period examples display hand-sawn underside timber markings, original wrought iron or cast brass hinges, Rule joints along the table edge, and turned or cabriole legs terminating in pad or webbed feet.

With the leaves dropped, the table functions as a compact console against a wall, or fully opened as a dining space in modern apartments and period homes alike.

Maintain the surface by applying a high-grade natural beeswax polish annually, keeping the timber clear of direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent drying or splitting.
