This vintage pond yacht hull or boat builder's block dates from 1930 in a maritime style. Constructed from warm brown timber with visible grain and brass elements, the piece displays planked hull construction, a carved deep keel, an integrated timber rudder, and brass pin fastenings. The surface shows natural signs of age including surface wear and weathering along the timber joints. Measuring 30 cm high, 122 cm wide, and 24 cm deep, the model provides substantial presence for display. Suitable for placement atop a sideboard in a coastal retreat interior, the sculpture rests on a custom display stand with two vertical supports anchored to a rectangular wooden base. The natural wood finish complements traditional and maritime-themed room schemes without requiring further hardware or embellishment.

A pond yacht hull is the carved or planked body of a miniature sailing vessel, originally constructed for recreational racing on boating lakes during the late nineteenth and mid-twentieth centuries.

Traditional pond yacht hulls were crafted using plank-on-frame or hollowed-log construction methods, utilizing lightweight yet durable timbers like pine, cedar, or mahogany fastened with small brass pins.

Authentic examples display natural timber patina, period-accurate hull hydrodynamics, original metal fasteners, and subtle age-related surface wear or minor oxidisation on metallic elements.

Display the hull on its custom stand atop a sideboard, mantelpiece, or open book shelf to introduce a refined nautical focal point into modern or classic interiors.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish periodically, keeping the object away from direct heat sources and high humidity.
