These Edwardian side tables are constructed from warm brown mahogany with a smooth polished finish. Each piece has a square top enclosed by a low shaped gallery featuring pierced geometric detailing, complemented by shaped corner spandrels below the plain friezes. Four slender square legs support the structure, joined at the lower level by pierced cross stretchers. The timber displays natural grain patterns and rich tonal variations across the surfaces. Each table measures 72 cm high, 44 cm wide, and 44 cm deep. They suit placement at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair in a living room or study to hold a lamp, books, or decorative objects.

Edwardian galleried side tables are small accent pieces crafted during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), characterised by lighter, more delicate proportions than Victorian furniture and featuring raised wooden borders or fretwork galleries around the tabletop.

Cabinetmakers during the Edwardian period predominantly used dense woods such as mahogany, rosewood, and satinwood, often utilising traditional dovetail joints, mortise and tenon joinery, and decorative fretwork stretchers.

Authentic pieces display period-appropriate joinery techniques, genuine age-related oxidisation on the underside of timber surfaces, original brass or wooden fittings, and refined proportioning consistent with early 20th-century craftsmanship.

Side tables can be positioned on either side of a contemporary sofa as lamp stands, placed as understated bedside tables in a guest room, or arranged individually in narrow hallways to hold decorative ceramics.

Clean surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish twice a year along the grain, keeping the furniture away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent timber movement.
