We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Originating in the late 19th century as a reaction against industrial mass production, the Arts and Crafts movement emphasised traditional joinery, functional forms, and the natural grain of timber.

Pieces were commonly constructed using solid hardwoods like oak, walnut, or mahogany, featuring visible joinery, cutout decorative brackets, and structural undertiers.

Authentic period tables display signs of age-appropriate patination, hand-finished underside construction, original joinery, and stylized geometric or organic cutout motifs.

Position the table beside contemporary soft seating to provide contrasting textural depth, or use it in an alcove crowned with a modern table lamp.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish periodically, avoiding modern silicone sprays and direct moisture exposure.
