Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This golden oak nest of three tables dates from 1920. Each table has a rectangular top with moulded edges, raised on bobbin-turned legs joined by low stretchers, and the whole set is finished with a warm wax polish displaying a rich amber tone. The tables diminish in size so the smaller ones slide neatly beneath the largest piece, offering versatile placement around a living room or study as occasional surfaces for drinks, lamps or books. The largest table measures 44 cm high, 50.5 cm wide, 36.5 cm deep, while the middle table stands 41.5 cm high, 40.5 cm wide, 3 cm deep, and the smallest measures 39 cm high, 31 cm wide, 31.5 cm deep. Practical and space-saving, the set suits placement beside a sofa or armchair for everyday use. The timber exhibits natural grain patterns across the rectangular tops, while the turned uprights and joined stretchers provide structural support and traditional detail. The tables remain in good condition with a wax finish, making them well-suited for traditional or transitional home interiors where movable side surfaces are useful.

A nest of tables is a set of small accent tables of graduating sizes designed to fit stacked neatly underneath one another when not in use. Originating in the late eighteenth century, this furniture design provides versatile surface space while conserving floor space.

Traditional oak nests of tables feature solid oak tops, turned wooden legs, and lower stretchers for structural reinforcement. Construction typically utilizes mortise and tenon joinery alongside wooden pegs to secure the framing.

Authentic pieces display signs of natural age, such as uneven wear on the legs, historic joinery, and patination beneath the table surfaces. The inner framing and undersides generally show unpolished wood with visible historic tool marks rather than uniform modern machine cuts.

A nest of tables can be placed adjacent to a sofa or armchair as compact side surfaces for lighting, books, or drinks. The individual tables can be unnested and distributed across a room during gatherings to provide flexible auxiliary surfaces.

Dust the surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish periodically along the grain to preserve the timber. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent moisture loss, warping, or fading of the natural wood tone.
