Antique Arts & Crafts Oak Plant Stand C.1910

Description

An Edwardian oak plant stand, the shaped top with a thumb-moulded edge set over a deep frieze cut with pierced Anglo-Moorish lobed arches to all four sides, raised on slender square legs.

Reflecting the continuing influence of Moorish design in late Edwardian Arts & Crafts furniture, the pierced aprons avoid the weight of heavier Victorian relief carving, creating both visual impact and lightness through negative space.

Very good antique condition, with minor surface wear consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
