Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom features the lion representing England and the unicorn representing Scotland, surrounding a quartered shield. During the nineteenth century, cast metal representations were frequently mounted on government buildings, courtrooms, and private estates as symbols of authority and loyalty.

These wall plaques were predominantly produced using sand-casting methods in iron, brass, or bronze. The cast metal was often finished with gilding, paint, or a dark chemical patina to emphasize structural relief details.

Authentic period castings display sharp relief details from hand-finished moulds alongside signs of aged oxidation or surface wear. Look for seam lines from multi-part sand moulds and original mounting lugs or drilled holes on the reverse.

A cast heraldic crest acts as a focal architectural feature when positioned above a mantelpiece or integrated into a gallery wall. Combining dark metalwork with neutral wall surfaces highlights the silhouette and textured finish.

Remove surface dust using a dry soft-bristled brush or microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive liquid cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can strip historic paint layer fragments and protective patination.
