Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency centre table is a circular or polygonal table designed to stand in the middle of a hallway or sitting room during the early nineteenth century. These pieces typically feature decorative radial veneers and a central pedestal support to enable easy passage around them.

Cabinetmakers commonly used highly figured cut veneers, such as flame mahogany, rosewood, or walnut, applied over pine or oak substrates. The central support bases were carved from solid hardwoods and often fitted with brass castors.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples display hand-cut veneers, hand-sawn secondary timbers on the underside, and original cast-brass latch mechanisms. Natural timber shrinkage over decades often causes slight oval warping in the circular top.

An antique centre table functions effectively as a focal point in a spacious entry hall or living room. Pairing dark polished timber with light neutral wall colours, contemporary ceramics, or modern art books creates a balanced scheme.

Keep the table positioned away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber warping or veneer lifting. Regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional application of beeswax polish maintains the surface without creating wax buildup.
